Jillian badly wanted to talk to Skyler but it was Saturday night and she and Tim were probably together doing fun date things, and Jillian wasn’t going to interrupt them. After dropping her bag on the washing machine, of the standard white rather than Harvest Gold variety, she headed for her TV, clicking it on and standing in indecision for a few moments. Popcorn. That’s what she needed to accompany her Hallmark movies.

Heading for the kitchen, she set up the microwave, then took an apple seltzer from the fridge, excited to be hearing voices from the TV and wondering which movie would be on first. One of her favorites or one she’d never seen before? Gathering her snack materials, she walked into the living room to put bowl and bottle on the coffee table, her eyes on the screen. Yes. An old favorite. And she loved the leads. She settled herself on the couch, happy to be home. Glancing at the empty cushion beside her, she wondered what Hudson would be doing when he got home.
